California Legislation

As it has been in many other industries, California is leading the way developing aggressive climate change and alternative fuel and vehicle policies, which provide the foundation and long-term commitment needed to form a sustainable and secure energy future. Each year dozens of bills are introduced in the California legislature pertaining to petroleum dependence, energy security, and environmental integrity. EIN constantly monitors these bills, provides its voice on many, and has even been the sponsor of some. The following is a selection of some key pieces of legislation:
